Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 26, 2026
This policy explains what information Carlyle Media LLC ("we", "us") collects through CrowdPlay. CrowdPlay is made up of the CrowdPlay Twitch Extension, the CrowdPlay desktop app, the CrowdPlay game mods, and the server at crowdplaymod.com that connects them. We collect only what is needed to make viewer redeems work, and we never sell personal information.
What we collect
From streamers who use CrowdPlay:
- Twitch user ID, channel ID and display name
- A pairing code that links the streamer's CrowdPlay desktop app to their channel
- The effect list, prices and settings the streamer chooses
- Live status sent by the desktop app, such as which supported game is running and whether effects are paused
From viewers who use the Extension:
- When a viewer only views the Extension, Twitch gives us an anonymous ID. We do not store it.
- When a viewer redeems an effect with Bits, Twitch sends us the viewer's Twitch user ID and display name, the product used, the Bits amount, a transaction ID and the time. The display name is shown in the streamer's game and on screen so everyone can see who triggered the effect.
Technical data: our server keeps standard logs, such as IP address, request time and errors, to keep the service running and secure.
We do not collect payment information. Bits are bought and handled entirely by Twitch under Twitch's own terms and privacy notice.
Data that stays on the streamer's computer
The CrowdPlay desktop app stores its settings, Twitch login tokens, and redeem history (including viewer display names, for the streamer's leaderboard) on the streamer's own computer. We do not receive this data. The exception is when a streamer chooses to send us a support file, which the app strips of login tokens and redeem history before saving.
How we use it
- To deliver each redeem to the right streamer's game and show who triggered it
- To verify that each Bits transaction is genuine and is used only once
- To show viewers which effects are available right now
- To fix problems, prevent abuse, and meet legal and tax obligations
Sharing
We share information only:
- With Twitch, as needed for the Extension to work
- With our hosting provider, which runs our server on our behalf
- On stream: a viewer's display name appears in the game and on screen when they redeem an effect
- When required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or ourselves
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
How long we keep it
| Data | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Redeem records (viewer ID, display name, transaction ID) | 90 days, then deleted. Totals without names may be kept longer for accounting. |
| Server logs | 30 days |
| Streamer pairing and settings | Until the streamer removes the Extension or asks us to delete it |
Your choices
- Streamers can unpair CrowdPlay or remove the Extension at any time. Ask us and we'll delete your stored settings.
- Viewers can ask us to delete their redeem records. Email us with your Twitch username.
- If you revoke the Extension's access in your Twitch settings, it stops receiving your identity for future redeems.
Children
CrowdPlay is not intended for children under 13, which is also Twitch's minimum age. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Security
We use HTTPS for all connections, verify every request signed by Twitch, and keep secrets out of our code. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit what we store so there's less at risk.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above. For important changes, we will also post a notice in the CrowdPlay app or on crowdplaymod.com.
